The International Thriller Writers is an honorary society of authors, both fiction and nonfiction, who write books broadly classified as “thrillers.” This would include (but isn’t limited to) such subjects as murder mystery, detective, suspense, horror, supernatural, action, espionage, true crime, war, adventure, and myriad similar subject areas. ITW welcomes applications for Author and Associate Membership. There are two ITW membership classes:
Active Membership
This membership is available to authors who have written at least one novel-length work of 80k words or more, and have signed a contract for this work with an ITW-recognized publisher. Please note that once authors have signed a contract, they are eligible for active membership. They do not need to wait for their publication date to be considered active members.
Associate Membership
This level is intended for industry professionals and those authors who have not yet met the requirements for Active Membership.
ITW also provides a renewable one-year Associate Membership to all full-time undergraduate and master-level students. Click here to apply.

ITW offers authors and interested others three additional membership opportunities. Each carries all of the above membership benefits and also provides honorary and promotional status. The one-time dues for these three levels are tax deductible business expenses for industry professionals.
Supporter
Open to Actives and Associates.-
Invitations to all ITW events, both private and public (3 years).
